Management Team
Chemstream’s team is made up of experienced industry experts who are focused on a consistent mission - offering innovative solutions, transparent and honest interactions with our clients and suppliers, and exceptional customer service.

David McCombie, President
David McCombie began his career with Rosebud Mining Company and has gained a wealth of experience in the coal industry prior to joining Chemstream in October 2012. Since that time, David has led the extensive growth and diversification of Chemstream and its services to the mining, oil & gas, and utility sectors. He currently oversees all aspects of the business including financial, business development, operations and safety. David also provides Chemstream with unique value through his industry knowledge, strong relationships with government regulators and ability to achieve both short-term and long-term goals.

Brandon LaBrozzi, Technical Director
Brandon LaBrozzi graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and earned a B.S. in Chemistry, an A.S. in Engineering Science and two minors: Math and Physics. LaBrozzi continued his education at Cornell University and earned a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering with a focus in Energy Economics and Engineering. Prior to joining Chemstream in December 2012, Brandon worked in the electro polishing industry treating waste water and performing quality control analyses before working two years with a drilling contractor as a Systems Engineer in the Appalachian basin. Brandon manages Chemstream’s state of the art in house laboratory, product QA/QC, research and development, regulatory compliance and provides onsite support and troubleshooting for customers and Chemstream personnel.

David Grottenthaler, Vice President of Business Development
David Grottenthaler graduated the Pennsylvania State University in 1979 with a B.S degree in microbiology. David has sold and serviced specialty chemicals and chemical delivery systems to the general industry, utility, mining, paper, and oilfield since graduation. Grottenthaler holds two patents related to flowback water reuse and innovative iron control of the oil field sector. David is a noted speaker on multiple oilfield convention platforms.

Travis Miller, Vice President of Operations
Prior to joining Chemstream, Travis worked for Rosebud Mining Company, focusing on underground mining operations and new mine development. After joining Chemstream in 2014, Travis relocated to southern Illinois to begin the development and formation of Chemstream’s Midwest operations, with a facility in West Frankfort, Illinois. Travis has since relocated back to Pennsylvania and works in the Homer City, PA corporate office handling all facets of operations. Travis Miller graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Marketing.

Greg Kettering, General Manager of Industrial Water Treatment
Greg Kettering graduated from the University of Pittsburgh earning a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Biochemical Engineering. As general manager at Chemstream he is responsible for the operations of the entire industrial water treatment platform. His extensive experience comes from working on the commissioning of three power plants, involvement with numerous new installations, and close support for more than 50 industrial facilities during his career, which includes serving as the acting Corporate Chemical Engineer for PSEG’s fossil assets in 2008. Greg is competent in the design and implementation of treatment programs for various influent, boiler, cooling, wastewater, and process applications. Greg has spent time with Betz, Nalco, ChemTreat, and his own company throughout his water treatment career before joining Chemstream.
